Duties
The Inpatient Mental Health Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for the delivery of fundamental, knowledge-based care to assigned mental health patients while developing technical competencies.
- Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences
- Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Accurately documents in the medical record patient findings, assessments, and care provided.
- Understands professional practice standards and principles and applies these concepts into mental health practice.
- Possesses the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary mental health practice setting. This clinical knowledge enables the RN to effectively implement mental health promotion and prevention interventions, manage acute and chronic illness, and assist mental health patients achieve optimal levels of functioning.
- Completes mandatory and annual competencies for equipment and procedures, adhere to unit-based protocols, maintain a current BLS certification, and work collaboratively with other disciplines in the Medical Center.
- Participates in in-services and performance improvement activities and customer services programs at unit and service line levels.
Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) - Prorated for part-time.

Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
Work Schedule: Full & part-time. Shifts will be discussed at the time of interview. Possibility of: 7:30am to 8:00pm; 7:30pm to 8:00am or 3:30pm to Midnight; all include rotating weekends and holidays

EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
