Summary

About the Position: You will provide technical support to the Wildlife Biologist and assist with implementing the wildlife management program. You will observe, collect data, and protect wildlife and their habitat. Requires long periods of standing and walking over rough terrain, and operation and travel in a small watercraft.



Duties
  • Assist with preparing detailed wildlife management plans.
  • Implement non-standard techniques for sampling wildlife populations.
  • Conduct field surveys to collect data on turtles, amphibians, rare plants, waterfowl, raptors, songbird nesting structures, and bats.
  • Conduct tagging, telemetry, surveys and nest searches for Northwestern pond turtles.
  • Create databases for compiling, computing and summarizing data.
  • Collect, or direct acquisition of GPS data on natural resource features.
