The city of Watertown seeks qualified applicants for the Associate Assessor for the Assessor's Office. The position is responsible for scheduling and inspecting real estate parcels and personal property accounts, collecting data used in the development and review of assessments, entering data in appraisal software, and the review and tracking of value changes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Minimum qualifications: associate degree and two years of experience in assessing or a related field. Candidates will be required to complete the Department of Revenue's Course 101 Assessment Administration within six months.

Salary and hours: this is a union position with a starting salary of $66,154 annually. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.

The work week is 37.5 hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30-5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30-7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 to 12:30 p.m.). This position is eligible for flexible work hours and one day of remote work.
