Job Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving raw materials and finished goods, maintaining inventory and associated records. Employee management includes training, planning, and assigning daily work, conducting performance reviews, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities of Shipping & Receiving employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.
  • Develop weekly manning plan, including temporary labor requests, per production schedule. As well as scheduling overtime and vacations in the department.
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production/material/shipping/receiving schedules and deadlines.
  • Recommend measures to improve material handling methods, equipment performance, and quality of service.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in warehouse supervision.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must maintain proper vision requirements.
  • Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.
  • Must have a current and valid Driver's License
