We are currently seeking a Logistics Engineer for our Urbana, Ohio location.

The primary focus of this position is to support operations and provide analytical assessments of Material flow-storage types, Master data, Material Master, assessments of logistics processes and initiatives. Customer packaging and shipping requirements into Rittal Corporation systems and lead process improvements across the logistics and supply chain networks.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of logistics and warehousing strategies that deliver competitive advantages to Rittal LLC. Optimization of processes and equipment.
  • Drive projects and process improvements utilizing best project management practices to achieve strategic goals and KPIs.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures for the Warehouse.
  • Continuous improvement of material handling processes.
  • Design of finished goods warehouse storage facility for optimum process efficiency.
  • Support and drive activities around operational excellence through cross-functional, team-based projects.
  • Specify and acquire capital equipment purchases.
  • Support product development activities to specify robust packaging requirements for Rittal Corporation products.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering PREFERRED
  • 3-5 years of logistics/warehouse experience a REQUIRED
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge: Lean Six Sigma a PLUS
  • Procurement and materials management experience a PLUS
  • Knowledge of the ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) a PLUS
  • Experience leading and working in cross functional teams
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office suite required
  • Willingness to travel domestically
