Duties

In this Program Manager (Division Chief) position you will be providing a full range of complex administrative services for the Mission Readiness Operations Division involving the development and advancement of major aspects of key components throughout numerous USBP stations and sector wide programs.

This position starts at a salary of $143, GS-15, Step 1) to $186, GS-15, Step 10) with promotion potential to $186, GS-15, Step 10).

As a Program Manager (Division Chief), you will be responsible over a wide variety of mission support programs including mission support policies, logistics, procurement, workforce issues, training, and financial programs and services. Typical duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Advising the Chief Patrol Agent (CPA) and Deputy Chief Patrol Agent (DCPA) of a sector and other managers on all of the DHS, CBP, and USBP key mission support processes.
  • Periodically reviewing the position structure of Mission Readiness Operations to ensure that positions are established to promote optimum balance between economy, efficiency, and utilization of skills.
  • Monitoring program accomplishments and identifies actual and potential problem areas, trends, merit and deficiency situations, areas of imbalance, and other similar factors.
  • Providing recommendations to the CPA regarding approval and modifications to the sector's Table of Organization.
  • Planning for future requirements for equipment and facilities to ensure economy, feasibility, and maximum effective utilization of management systems.
  • Maintaining effective management-employee relations through communications and recognition of employee performance.
