Summary

The Central Iowa VA is hiring for multiple RNs assigned to the Community Living Center 3. This position has a recruitment incentive which will be a $7,500 for a two-year service agreement. For highly qualified and eligible applicants.

Duties

The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers.

This is an approach to healthcare that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their lives to the fullest.

As an employee operating in a Whole Health System of care, you will operate in a model with three core elements, seeking to create a personalized health plan for each Veteran.

This is done in the context of healing relationships and healing environments and a connection back to the Veteran's community.

This aligns with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Mission Statement to Honor America's Veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being.


Major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides age
  • appropriate, culturally, ethnically, and spiritually sensitive physical and mental care and support.
  • Adopts a lifespan perspective that appreciates the meaning and impact of ageism, poverty, and disability.
  • Educates older adults and families about chronic illness and mental health care and treatment options.
  • Assist in the coordination of care among caregivers.
  • Participates in quality care improvement activities.
  • Participates with the Unit Based Council and promoting a shared governance environment on the unit

Work Schedule: Day Shift - 7:30am- 8:00pm (6) and 7:30am :00pm/Night Shift - 7:30pm-8:00am(6) and 11:30am-8:00am (1)

Telework: Not Available.

Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be eligible for $7,500 Lump Sum for a two-year service agreement. The incentive will in a lump sum. For highly qualified and eligible applicants.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized.
