TE Connectivity's Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.
What your background should look like:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with engineering and production teams to drive down the manufacturing scrap.
  • Monitor and take actions to dispose material on-time from MRB area.
  • Lead digital factory initiatives for molding value stream.
  • Initiate investigations into quality issues and coordinate problem solving to provide timely response to customers through 8D reports.
  • Main contact for customer related quality topics during production phase including but not limited to containments, customer alerts, RMA discussions etc.
  • Lead and coordinate Kaizen events for process improvements.
  • Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions for internal and external issues.
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support on-site audits conducted by customers and external providers for assigned values stream.
  • Maintain and manage quality assurance policies and procedures to meet customer and general quality standards.
  • Prepare PPAP documents to customers for any product/process changes.
  • Conduct internal LPA and Product Audits as required.
  • Experience with IATF and VDA 6.3 auditing to represent assigned value stream in customer and certification audits.

Skills, Experience and Educations:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 5 plus years of experience in quality. Experience in the Automotive Electronics industry and plastic injection molding is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge in QMS, APQP and PPAP. Ideally in the automotive environment.
  • Quality inspection, IATF and VDA 6.3 auditing, and testing experience.
