SAIC is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator for on-site to support the Advanced Scientific and Engineering Computer Center in Kingston, RI.
Job Duties:
Responsible for providing day-to-day operational and maintenance support of the ASECC at Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT). Performs various system administration duties in a large Windows and Linux environment. Assists in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux issues relating to performance and compliance and security hardening.Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and nine (9) years or more experience; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.Experience implementing and supporting Red Hat or similar distributions of Linux.Experience working in a high performance computer facility with demonstrated ability to manage. operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and test complex computer hardware and software systems.Must have the ability to obtain a SECRET level clearance.Experience with scripting languages and automation techniques including Bash and Python.Experience with job scheduling systems, PBS experience a plus.Familiarity with licensing managers such as FlexLM and LMX.Candidate must already possess an IAT II level certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or Network+ CE and Linux certification). SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
