Trusted Staffe Seeks Physical Therapist for Short & Long-Term Care Facility in Floyd, VA


Trusted Staffe is partnering with a short and long-term care facility in Floyd, VA to find a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT).

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled PT to make a positive impact on the lives of patients by helping them regain or improve their mobility, functional abilities, and overall well-being.


Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients to assess their strengths, weaknesses, and functional limitations.

Develop individualized treatment plans that address each patient's specific goals, focusing on improving mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and endurance.

Utilize a variety of physical therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and assistive devices.

Educate patients and their families on their conditions and treatment plans.


Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

Document progress in patients' medical records and participate in care conferences.

Maintain a safe and patient-centered treatment environment.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on current physical therapy practices.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.

Valid Physical Therapy License in the state of Virginia.

Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a geriatric or short-term care setting (preferred).

Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Ability to document effectively in medical records.

Preferred

Qualifications:
Experience working in a short-term and long-term care setting.

Knowledge of therapeutic modalities relevant to geriatric and short-term care populations.

Experience with gait training and assistive devices.

Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
