Summary:

The Staff Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, evaluating and verifying transactions. The position will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial information in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills. This person will directly report to the Controller for supervision purposes, and will work regularly with all levels of management.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
Prepare necessary account reconciliation and supporting schedules, analyze all relevant general ledger information, and collaborate with Controller to prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements on a timely basis
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Assist with the preparation of periodic budgets for the various departments and operating units as needed
Work with the Controller to ensure all management reporting needs are met
Follow established accounting processes
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Evaluate/recommend inventory and other controls

as needed to reduce costs or increase profitability
Effectively communicate with warehouse, operations, office and sales personnel
Identify opportunities to improve operating efficiencies based on data analysis
Work a flexible schedule with hours and days to reflect seasonal and business needs
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
One to three years' experience in accounting desired
Prior experience working in manufacturing or production process operations, distribution, produce or a fresh-cut/processing environment a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed
Proficient in MS Office; specifically Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to provide accurate information and analysis in a changing environment is essential
Ability to work efficiently and independently as well as part of a team is critical
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
