JOB DETAILS:

The Engineering and Technology Department invites applications for a Lecturer in engineering to prepare career-ready engineers and engineering technologists through hands-on learning experiences. The Engineering and Technology Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout offers six undergraduate programs, including Computer & Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering (B.S. and M.S.), Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Packaging. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in at least two of the areas listed in the Responsibilities section below. This is a full-time position with intent to renew. The anticipated start date is August 19, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS

Each of the following qualifications is required of all candidates

Bachelor and Master of Science in an engineering or technology-related discipline
Two (2) or more years of experience in industry (or a similar environment) in at least two areas of teaching responsibilities by employment start date
Ability to teach in a combined lecture and lab environment
Excellence in oral and written English communication
Interest in advancing student learning in the area of engineering
Highly desired qualification

Commitment to establishing a climate (work environment) that embraces inclusion
RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach courses related to two or more of the following topics (depending on experience and qualifications):
- Automation
- Robotics
- Controls/PLCs
- Industrial Internet of Things
- Capstone Project/Senior Design Project

Assess student learning and aid in maintaining program accreditation and continuous improvement in collaboration with faculty and staff.
DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Engineering and Technology (E&T) Department is one of eight departments in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Management (CSTEMM). The department has approximately 40 full-time faculty and staff, four of whom are full-time technicians. The department provides courses for its well-established and accredited undergraduate programs in Computer & Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering (B.S. and M.S.), Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Packaging, plus other programs throughout the University.
