THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This ND National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC), Position Description Number D2523000 and is part of the ND G6, National Guard.



Duties

This is a trainee position located in a National Guard JFHQ-State organization under the office of the Chief Information Officer(G6). Performs the basic duties and has the basic responsibilities as described in the GS position description; however, detailed assistance, guidance, and support from the supervisors and co-workers are provided, as required.

  • Ensures that all elements are in compliance with guidance concerning accreditation of automated information systems, risk management, control of computer viruses, and other similar issues.
  • Reviews Army Training and Certification Tracking System, approves new user accounts, and conducts ongoing audits to ensure all privileged and user accounts comply with Army Standards.
  • Conducts investigation of security incidents, reports findings to leadership and remediates findings based on guidance from the cybersecurity service provider and IAW with all command, Army, and DOD security directives, policies and procedures to include: computer viruses and sanitation of highly classified information from organization.
  • Maintains an operational knowledge base of past, current and possible future threats to the security posture by attending courses, conferences, seminars, online research, and information sharing between other Cybersecurity/Information Assurance professionals. Must anticipate the effects of new emerging technology and develop policies to control it to prevent security violations. Makes recommendations regarding policies and/or procedures to prevent or react to security concerns.
