Join us in our mission to provide outstanding care to those we servePosition Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Infection Control Nurse to join our team at Western Slope Care Center. As the Infection Control Nurse, you will play a critical role in preventing and controlling infections within our facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in infection prevention while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention and control policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and other communicable diseases within the facility.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to identify and mitigate infection risks and implement preventive measures.
- Provide education and training to staff on infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and isolation precautions.
- Monitor compliance with infection control practices and conduct audits to assess adherence to established protocols.
- Investigate outbreaks of infectious diseases and implement appropriate control measures to contain and prevent further spread.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of infection surveillance data, trends, and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of current developments in infection control and participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred..
