Job Title: International Scout(s)Multiple roles available within our scouting department. Job Structure:Contractor (Full time & part time) Location: Global (In Market) Role Summary:The international scout will work within the scouting department and report to the Manager of Scouting Operations to identify players who may be of interest to the Columbus Crew. The international scout will bring a strong game understanding and extensive knowledge of players, clubs, agents, and relevant contacts in specific global regions.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Identify, review, and monitor target leagues and players to support the club's scouting & recruitment strategy.
  • Complete scouting reports as assigned by the Manager of Scouting Operations.
  • Actively participate in bi-weekly scouting department meetings.
  • Attend live games pertinent to the coverage of specific global regions & leagues.
  • Create a network of club, scouting and agent contacts to support the scouting process.
  • Maintain player shortlists of first team and emerging talent.
  • Liaise with club staff to coordinate travel to matches in the region.

Qualification Requirements:
  • Prior experience working in a scouting role or a similar function at a professional football club.
  • Competent user of scouting tools such as WyScout to review games and create video clips.
  • Expert knowledge of football and the player pool in various global leagues.
  • Verbal & written proficiency in English.
  • High level of self-discipline and time management skills to complete tasks under pressure.
  • Experience writing individual & full game scouting reports.
  • Organized and methodical approach to workflow.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • An ability to communicate in multiple languages.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organization skills.
  • Acts with high levels of integrity and professionalism as representative of the Columbus Crew.
  • Strong game understanding through previous employment or playing experience.
  • Positive mindset with the willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willing to work unsociable hours to meet deadlines.
