Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, First Coast Guard District, Air Station Cape Cod, MA.

Duties

The role of this position is to manage the Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) pharmacy and Hazardous Waste Satellite Points utilized by aviation maintenance personnel, ensure proper Hazmat stock levels are maintained and storage requirements met.

Typical work assignments include:
Forecasting material requirements based on current and projected workloads.

  • Soliciting vendor quotes, preparing and forwarding procurements, and receiving materials from federal or commercial carriers.
  • Distributing materials to appropriate storage locations within the warehouse, and redistribution of materials to department shops.
  • Maintaining Hazmat Authorize Use List with current Safety Data Sheets.
  • Serving as a Satellite Point Manager for all Hazardous Waste within the Engineering Department.
  • Establishing and maintaining an accurate accounting and reporting system of property.
  • Serving as the primary tool custodian, responsible for issuing all hand tools to aviation personnel, as well as ensuring all tools are accounting for daily.
  • Ordering new and replacement tools as required.
  • Performing routine phases of property management such as signing items in and out of the warehouse, conducting periodic inventories and procurement replacement items.
  • Overseeing the shipping, receiving and storage of all Hazardous Material for the Department via both commercial carriers and unit aircraft.
