Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Colorado, our small boarding school is known for its tight-knit community, personalized approach to education, and extensive outdoor program that sets us apart.

With a five-year business plan in place, we seek a forward-thinking individual to guide us into the next era of educational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Leadership: Drive academic initiatives, fostering a curiosity and lifelong learning culture.
  • Facility Management: Oversee the upkeep and enhancement of our school facilities and fleet and ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Admissions: Develop strategies to attract and enroll students who will thrive in our unique setting.
  • Stakeholder Outreach: Cultivate relationships with parents, alumni, and the local community to build a strong support network.
  • Fundraising: Lead fundraising efforts to support the school's growth and development, with experience in school budgeting and financing considered a plus.
  • School Leadership: Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a positive and inclusive school culture.

Staff Management:
Recruit, mentor, and manage a dedicated team of educators and support staff.

  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate a commitment to excellence, integrity, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
  • Outdoor Activities: Embrace and participate in outdoor activities such as backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, fostering a love for nature and adventure.

Weekend Duties:
Occasional evening and weekend responsibilities to support the overall well-being of the students and school community.

The preferred start date is June 2024, allowing for a warm hand-off.

Prefered Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in educational leadership, preferably in a boarding school environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated fundraising and financial management success, with school budgeting and financing experience considered a plus.
  • Passion for outdoor activities and a willingness to participate in them regularly.
  • Understanding and empathy for students who may have struggled in traditional environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to implement the school's strategic vision.
  • Familiarity with TUIO for tuition management is also a plus.
