Mount Saint Mary Academy seeks a leave replacement Spanish teacher to join our teaching faculty for the end of the current school year (mid-May through early June) with the opportunity to continue coverage in the fall of the school year (from the end of August through the end of October).

The ideal candidate is an experienced teacher who possesses a passion for teaching high school girls and the ability to teach Spanish language and culture at all levels.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish and/or Education, or other related field
  • Native or near-native proficiency and familiarity with Spanish cultures and literature
  • 2 + years high school teaching experience (preferred)
  • Ability to teach all levels of Spanish; previous experience with AP Spanish Language and Culture is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and to communicate with students and parents Key Responsibilities:
    • Build a classroom culture in which students engage with the language in authentic ways and integrate interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes of communication
    • Integrate technology in the classroom in engaging and meaningful ways
    • Differentiate instruction and assessment for students, as appropriate
    • Develop and support a positive learning environment with students and will effectively communicate with students and families about student progress.
