AIM Academy is seeking a full-time Lower School Makerspace teacher (Grades 1-5). Responsibilities include implementing and adapting AIM's curriculum, utilizing Lower School routines and procedures with consistency, developing lesson plans, and crafting narrative comments at the end of each marking period.

AIM Lower School teachers collaborate to discuss student work, share best practices, and assess student progress. In addition, teachers are expected to form and maintain positive relationships with students' families, including regular home-school communication. All teachers are invited to participate in a variety of robust professional development opportunities throughout the academic year.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, attending faculty meetings, ordering instructional materials and supplies, developing Back-to-School Night presentations, attending AIM community evening events, and any other duties that may be assigned by Administration.

AIM seeks instructors who are committed to collegiality and have high expectations for all students. The ideal candidate will have certification in Elementary/Special Education. Prior experience teaching students with language-based learning differences and familiarity with the Responsive Classroom approach is preferred. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required/Master's degree preferred PA or Private Academic Certification in Elementary and/or Special Education preferred Experience in providing responsive, evidence-based instruction to and designing engaging curricula for students who learn differently Ability to adjust instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners Deep respect for children as learners and individualsKnowledge of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and their impact on classroom climate and curriculum Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills at both the student and family levels Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with students and staff Demonstrated commitment to professional development and lifelong learning Openness to feedback from an instructional support team Familiarity with innovative and assistive technologies to be leveraged in the classroom setting Comfort and familiarity with Laser Cutting and 3D printing technology Host weekly After-School Makerspace Club compensated with an additional stipend Willingness to implement emerging technologies into the classroom To Apply:
