SUMMARY:

The Inventory Procurement Planner will manage the supply chain and component inventories at optimal levels to support production schedules and sales. Will order all components, as well as handle some procurement / inventory / budget responsibilities. The department acts as the logistics department for Motorsport including packaging, warehousing, and shipping duties. Warehouse team members report to a Supervisor while the OE Customer Service Specialists, The warehouse is not climate controlled and will have to travel between buildings via walking / golf cart.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine delivery frequency with vendors in order to optimize inventory
  • Create and modify vendor schedules based on delivery frequency
  • Maintain inventory levels according to plan
  • Establish and maintain work instructions
  • Track deliveries of internationally-supplied components
  • Participate in vendor visits and audits, as necessary
  • Assist with cycle counts and/or annual physical inventory
  • Coordinate inventory transitions for product engineering changes
  • Calculate monthly delivery performance
  • Monthly physical count of consignment inventory
  • Provide consignment inventory quantities to vendors at month end
  • Initiate and resolve vendor non-conformances and charge backs for logistic reasons
  • Resolve vendor delivery issues and determine the necessity of expedited freight
  • Identify internal inventory discrepancies and manage the resolution
  • Process vendor return deliveries
  • Receiving of all components and non-inventory items into MMS
  • Track and Order all non-inventory items and packaging as needed
  • Required to use a pallet jack.
  • Create material master Warehouse Management Views
  • Fill storeroom supply list.
  • Pack and label components for storage / shipment.
  • Analyze hold shelf for component issues
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • Looking for 3+ years' experience with inventory procurement / inventory control
  • Experience with cycle counts and/or annual physical inventory
  • Experience with vendors - initiate / resolve non-conformances and charge backs; resolve delivery issues and determine necessity of expedited freight; create / modify vendor schedules
  • Experience managing supply chain / component inventories at optimal levels to support production schedules and sales.
  • Have to be comfortable being in the warehouse and will be required to drive a forklift / Stock picker and use a pallet jack.
  • Shipping, packaging, or factory experience
  • Need solid computer (MS Excel and SAP a plus), detail oriented, self-motivation, initiative and reasoning skills.
  • Also, good problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, embraces change, and time management skills.
