Tufting Technician

The Duncan M. Stewart associate participates in any improvement that is necessary to achieve a world class working environment. Total involvement in our program will enable Duncan M. Stewart to produce the best quality product in a safe and efficient manner.

Basic Job Responsibilities:


The Tufting Technician is part of the Engineering Services team and works closely with machine operators and Quality Control Technicians on multiple procedures.

Must keep required documentation and communicate well among teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Internal Candidates must be in good standing on Safety Engagement, Attendance, and Performance
  • Must be able to use a calculator
  • Willing to work OT as needed
  • Schedule Rotation required
  • Must have aptitude to learn the necessary computer programs
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and be able to pass a mechanical aptitude test
  • Must be able to learn how to run tufting machines
  • The incumbent will train on 1st shift but once fully trained will move to a rotating shift (will receive gains on top of level 4 pay)

Physical Requirements:

  • The Tufting Technician must be able to stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift as needed.
Heavy lifting may be required for some tasks. The use of hand tools and computer are necessary.

Those with mechanical or electrical job history may be given preference. Tufting Operator experience is preferred. Must pass a mechanical aptitude test. Ability to use a computer. Must become a first responder.

Candidates must be in good standing on Safety, Attendance, Performance to be considered.
