Applications Developer

As our Sr. Applications Developer, you will be a valuable part of the IS Finance Product team. You will be responsible for helping to develop solutions and providing support to both legacy systems and newer technologies. You will work primarily with our Oracle E-Business Suite application and Oracle database. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including applications managers, product owners, and other developers, to deliver high-quality and reliable solutions that meet business requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Every day you will meet challenges related to accepting payments and managing financials as part of a team that prides itself on a culture of harmony and shared knowledge.
  • Work in an Agile environment using Shell scripting, SQL*Loader, PL/SQL, Git/GitHub, and Oracle Developer. You will analyze existing systems and help create solutions to ongoing challenges.
  • During development work, you will use Jira to get your story. You will communicate with the team making the request to understand exactly what they need to implement and do some whiteboard work to get the architecture exactly right.

What You'll Need

  • To thrive in this role, you must communicate effectively with others. You will have to understand their precise needs and communicate if and how you can help. Some people are more tech-savvy than others and you will have to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • You need experience working on large-scale production systems with thousands of users connected concurrently. You should be very familiar with the needs and challenges of a system that can support thousands of users at any given time.
  • You have worked with Shell scripting, preferably Korn shell/Bourne shell.
  • You have working knowledge and experience with the following: SQL*Loader, PL/SQL, Oracle database application development, Git/GitHub, Windows and Linux OS, APIs, Production support or on-call duties
  • If you have experience working with Python, Oracle EBS APIs, Ansible, and Control-M, it would be a plus.
  • You're good with ESQL, REST, SOAP, and HTTP and you know when to use each protocol. You know how applications work on the application side versus the integration side. You know how it will work on desktop versus middleware.
  • You have worked previously with an Agile team or understand these concepts. You're expected to participate in daily standup meetings, you'll complete your projects or stories during our sprints, and you'll be ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines.
