Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer

What does a Senior Mainframe Storage Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will plan, design, manage, configure, implement, performance tune, provide backup and recovery, data replication, and disaster recovery of a fast-growing, complex storage environment. You will use your knowledge of best practices for disk configurations, SMS management, catalog management, and tape technologies.

What you will do:

  • Manage, maintain, and implement data storage solutions, utilizing DELL PMAX, DELL DLm, IBM DS8K and IBM VTS
  • Install, configure, and ongoing operation of key IBM and DELL Software products such as TDMF, Control Center and Mainframe Enablers
  • Support 24x7 operations and on-call responsibilities
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing
  • Install, maintain, and customize operating systems and system software
  • Provide training to clients and colleagues

What you will need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience with z/OS and MVS experience in all IBM utilities and mainframe disciplines
  • 7+ years of experience with access methods and VSAM Record Level Sharing, as well as TSO/ISPF, JCL, DFSMS, HSM, DSS, DFP, IBM utilities, CA1, RMM
  • 5+ years of experience engineering in large storage environments
  • 5+ years of experience with Point in Time Backup knowledge, Replication/Mirroring technologies including IBM PPRC, Metro/Global Mirroring and DELL SRDF
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience

What would be great to have:

  • Experience with enterprise class storage: DELL, HDS, or IBM
  • Experience with disaster recovery development, testing, & implementation
