Hedrick Medical Center (HMC) in Chillicothe, MO, has delivered high-quality health care to Livingston County and the surrounding communities since it's opening in 2014. A city-owned, not-for-profit critical access hospital, HMC is a Joint Commission-accredited hospital in north-central Missouri. The hospital was awarded the prestigious 2019 Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey for reaching the 95th percentile for clinical quality. The 25-bed acute care hospital offers comprehensive care, including a 24-hour emergency department staffed by board certified physicians, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic testing, a Women's Center featuring 3-D mammography, inpatient and outpatient surgery & rehabilitation services, ICU & PCU level care with eICU monitored beds, a specialty clinic that offers infusion and sleep lab services, and primary care offices adjoining the facility. Chillicothe lies in the heart of a rich agricultural section of the state 90 miles northeast of Kansas City and is the largest community in north central Missouri. Known as the Home of Sliced Bread, Chillicothe's population is currently around 9,000 with Livingston County having a total population of close to 15,000.
