Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer is responsible for providing value to the Vitro organization by contributing leadership, planning, and technical knowledge to ensure compliance with Vitro, customer, and governmental quality specifications and regulations.We work collaboratively with our customers to ensure that our glass provides the safety, comfort, efficiency required for todays modern vehicles.Facilitation of new product development through collaboration with: Program Management, Plant/Corporate Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.Key decision maker and shop-floor driver of strategic Vitro management objectives, processes, plans and schedules to achieve Vitro goals (plant and corporate levels).Coordination with Vitro Field Services network to support fast-moving customer assembly processes; facilitation of action plans, countermeasures and support any 3rd party sort activities.Work closely with Process Engineering and Technical teams to drive down internal scrap rates; improve overall process yields and promote defect recognition across organization.Maintenance of databases to effectively document quality complaints, warranty claims and customer KPIs and performance matrices.Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process utilizing the following: PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Capability Studies is required
