Description & Qualifications
UKG is on the lookout for a skilled Java engineer to join our Product Development teams focused on the Integration Platform. In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to solving complex design and development challenges, creating scalable, high-performance, secure services integral to our Product Suite. Collaborate with top-tier software experts in designing, building, and maintaining globally accessible software systems that impact millions daily.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and assess technologies for building reactive, event-driven systems
  • Enhance solution maintainability and extensibility
  • Optimize developer experience for product teams
  • Empower the team to deliver quality software efficiently
  • Write top-notch code supported by thorough testing and metrics
  • Maintain high standards when working with production systems
  • Stay adaptable to evolving technologies and environments
  • Thrive in a collaborative setting, engaging effectively with diverse team members, partners, and clients

*This role requires office presence on a hybrid basis, with 3 days in the office per week*

Qualifications
Basic qualifications:

  • Proficiency in microservices architecture
  • Experience in building event-driven, reactive microservices using RabbitMQ or Kafka Streams
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and public cloud deployment platforms
  • Strong background in continuous integration and delivery
  • Over 5 years of involvement in cross-functional enterprise software projects utilizing Agile practices
  • Knowledge of Agile/Lean Software Development methodologies like Kanban or Scrum

Preferred qualifications:

  • Skilled in CQRS and Event Sourcing
  • Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal competence
  • Self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
