Summary / Role Purpose

The summer intern will work closely with material & fracture development team in testing and validating the newly developed features. She or he will need to develop finite element models, run Ansys software, find analytic or numerical solution and process the results for the comparison and validation. Candidates with experience in ML/AI is a plus. The intern will get an opportunity to interact with Ansys global leaders. The internship will begin in May 2024 and conclude August 2024. This is a full-time opportunity and the intern is expected to work 40 hours per week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with development team in testing and validating the newly developed features and proof concept prototype
  • Develop finite element models and run Ansys software
  • Find analytic or numerical solution and process the results for the comparison and validation.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical, civil or Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Mechanics or related fields
  • Strong computational mechanics background

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • experience in ML/AI
  • Excellent technical knowledge and commercial experience with numerical analysis, cloud technologies, object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
  • Deep knowledge in finite element formulations or other numerical methods in simulation and nonlinear solution algorithms
  • Ability to overcome obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and geographies, and to mentor junior developers
