PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a Baker, you will be responsible for following recipes and yield guides. You will also set the stage for the guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare baked goods by following recipes and yield guides.
  • Assist in decorating cakes and pastries.
  • Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Ensure all requisitions are processed properly and placed in the designated area.
  • Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
  • Set up and break down workstations.
  • Regularly runs for food; restocks all kitchen supplies and food items required for service.
  • Communicate, direct, and assist management, chef, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to produce all aspects of the bake shop including pastries, wedding cakes, and specialty items.
  • Working knowledge of weights and measures
  • Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment and supplies, including, but not limited to mixers, ovens, toasters, refrigerators, coolers, slicers, beverage machines, VCRs, and small wares.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of professional, high-volume, baking experience
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • Two (2) years of professional, high-volume, baking experience
  • Experience in a similar resort setting.
