The Lillian and Betty Ratner Montessori School, founded in 1963, is a coeducational independent Montessori school for students aged 18 months through 8 th Grade. We offer small classes taught by a distinguished faculty and a rich program of academics, athletics, and the arts. The school operates on a beautiful 14-acre campus in Pepper Pike, Ohio, a suburb on the east side of Cleveland. Job Description:

The Montessori Children's House Teacher works as a co-teacher in one of our Children's House (ages 3 – 6) classrooms. S/he ensures/creates a positive learning environment guided by the Montessori philosophies and curriculum. The Montessori Children's House Teacher communicates well and frequently with parents as well as collaborates with colleagues and administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the classroom environment each day beginning around 8:00 AM.
  • Careful observation and planning for each individual child's developmental strengths and challenges.
  • Maintain high standards of Montessori practice.
  • Maintain a nurturing and patient stature to facilitate a content, calm, and positive atmosphere.
  • On-going collaboration with other staff members, parents, and families.
  • Attend full faculty/staff meetings as necessary. Required Qualifications:

    The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree. In addition, a Montessori Certification is strongly preferred. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate effective classroom skills and strong communication skills. A sense of humor is essential
