Animal Ark Veterinary Hospital, located near Winston Salem North Carolina, is a large, six doctor practice that provides high quality and cutting edge veterinary care for dogs, cats and exotics.

Animal Ark offers on site housing as needed for interested externs in addition to professional mentoring and working in a busy and progressive 13,000 square foot hospital. Externs will have the opportunity to work up cases and work with mentors in surgery, dental, ultrasonography, VSMT and physical rehabilitation, regenerative medicine and go through case studies.

In addition to the benefits of working at Animal Ark Veterinary Hospital, externs will have the unique opportunity of exploring all that North Carolina has to offer. Located centrally in the state, it is a quick drive to either the mountains or the beach. There are also plenty of local activities for the avid outdoorsman and popular attractions.

Animal Ark is constantly growing and has been recently renovated with an additional wing. The hospital is equipped with digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, surgical suite, dentistry suite and a paperless medical records computer system. With a very dedicated and professional staff, Animal Ark Veterinary Hospital also provides a supportive work environment with an excellent culture.

Full extern/preceptorships are open to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students who are enrolled in an AVMA accredited school and who are authorized to work in the United States. Internships are open to 1st and 2nd year students who are interested in getting a head start in learning. Shadowing opportunities are also available but will not provide school credit.
