IRC's resettlement model focuses on the self-sufficiency of our refugee clients.Economic Empowerment supports clients through job application support, job search assistance, higher educational opportunities, financial coaching, and cash assistance programs.
Interns Responsibilities:
The intern's primary point of contact will be the department's head of the Economic Empowerment Program and other caseworkers.
Interns can expect to work with refugee clients, use translators, coordinate appointments, assist with tax preparation, and other department-supporting tasks.
Interns will have the opportunity to present job readiness presentations and assist in credit-building courses. Interns will gain greater insight into the resettlement process for refugees in the Dallas area.IRC places a strong focus on hiring from our intern pool- if you are eager to break into international relations or political science, or are looking for nonprofit experience, this internship is for you.
This is an unpaid positionMinimum Qualifications:
Must be able to come into the Dallas office at least 15 hours a week between 8:30 am-4:30 pm M-F.
Check with your school's Internship Coordinator BEFORE accepting the hiring offer to determine if this position satisfies the criteria for receiving academic credit.
