The Psychiatrist is responsible for the delivery of comprehensive, clinically effective psychiatric care to adults. Staff Psychiatrists have medical/clinical authority and responsibility for admitting, patient care, and discharge of patients admitted to the unit.Responsible for medical administration and, in some cases, supervision of APRNs, implementing clinically sound, consumer-oriented services in collaboration with the Medical Director.
Psychiatrist will carry a maximum caseload of 12 patients. Average patient LOS, 8 – 10days.Academic appointment at UMASS Medical School students and/or University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine commensurate with teaching roles are possible.
