EA SPORTS is on the lookout for an outstanding Live Service Game Designer. We are searching for someone with expertise in core game design and live service system design. In this role, you will collaborate with creative and technical leaders to shape the content, features, and tools roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, tune, and troubleshoot entire Live Service features to engage and excite our players.
  • Utilize data insights, user research, and design intuition to develop features that enhance the live services of our games.
  • Support the creative vision set by the Creative Director and Product Owner.
  • Guide and educate content designers on upcoming features and their impact on content creation.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of existing systems to oversee all live service features and mentor junior team members.
  • Set experience goals for designs and fine-tune features to meet those goals.
  • Actively collaborate with diverse teams to establish player stories and goals for each release.
  • Find creative solutions within the constraints of available tools, time, and scope to create unique player experiences.
  • Work closely with all team disciplines to garner support and guide projects from design to production.
  • Develop expertise in the game and community to make informed design decisions.
  • Improve processes and establish best practices for the design team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of game design experience on a video game development team or equivalent knowledge.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an active live service game.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Live Service games as interconnected systems affecting the overall player experience.
  • Strong creative, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to write and maintain detailed design documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of UI/UX and its impact on system design.
  • Experience in designing features to meet Engagement, Retention, or Monetization objectives.
  • Technical proficiency in implementing design content through scripting or database languages.
  • Open-minded, collaborative, and motivated to overcome challenges.
  • Ability to take ownership, prioritize tasks, and work autonomously or in groups.
  • Passion for gaming and experience with sports games.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience shipping a AAA HD title.
  • Knowledge or enthusiasm for the NFL or College Football.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, Google Docs, Miro, Visio, JIRA, and online collaboration tools.
