Machinist Journeyman

Job Description

Job Purpose:
Adjusts and repairs Offset Printing machines, pre-press equipment, and packaging and distribution equipment according to maintenance schedule, diagnosis of machine malfunctioning, and manufacturer's service manuals

Tasks Performed:
Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipmentPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorateInspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklistsUse tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instrumentsDiagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessaryInspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctionsRecord maintenance and repair work performed using computerized maintenance management software application.Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machineryDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power toolsPlan and layout repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagramsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedgesOperate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal partsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instrumentsSet up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools

The salary range for this position is:
64, ,500.00 USD Annual

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
