AGENCY MEDICAL OFFICER (AMO) FOR EMPLOYEE OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH

The AMO will manage employee occupational health services in the workplace, overseeing health programs, and conducting various evaluations. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting official VA personnel actions
  • Assisting with health promotion and disease prevention
  • Safeguarding employee health and safety
  • Detecting unsafe working conditions
  • Returning employees to work after illness or injury
  • Performing fitness-for-duty evaluations
  • Ordering medical assessments
  • Completing medical reports for cases
  • Responding to health hazards
  • Implementing Whole Health programs

The AMO reports to the ACOS/Primary Care under the Chief of Staff's supervision. The role operates from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
