Wyoming Seminary Upper School has an opening for a Latin Teacher. The ideal candidate must be a dynamic individual who possesses a willingness to work closely with departmental colleagues, participate in curriculum design, and be willing to teach a wide range of courses within the Global Language Department. The successful candidate will join an experienced, dedicated faculty that is deeply committed to the entire student experience.

Founded in 1844, Wyoming Seminary is an independent, coeducational Toddler - PG school with campuses in Kingston and Forty-Fort, PA. The Upper School has a composition of about 40% boarding and 60% day students. Guided by our mission and motto, we seek to create active learners, responsible citizens, community leaders, and ethical individuals ready to take their place in the global community of the 21st century. Through excellent academic, arts, and athletics programs, students and teachers are part of a vibrant living and learning community.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 5 courses, including honors and AP-level
  • Provide academic support to students outside of class time
  • Serve as advisor for a small cohort of students
  • Participate in department and faculty meetings
  • Supervise or assist with two co- or extra-curricular activities
  • Cover study halls, campus spaces, and other related duties
    • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
    • Secondary teaching or relevant experience is preferred
    • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth
    • Experience or interest in coaching sports, dorm parenting, and/or running student activities
    • Proficiency with current educational technology and with a range of current pedagogical techniques
