Position Summary

Manages the overall finance operations functions of the program by managing the programs business plan, budget, profitability analysis, expense management, productivity and loss fund management. Works in partnership with Management staff to meet all goals and objectives. Significantly influences expense ratio and revenue growth results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the finance operations of the program, partnering with the operations managers to achieve desired business plan objectives. Provide analysis and reports on financial data including progress to plan and any adverse trends. Monitor and measure production, profitability and effectiveness of action plans. Performs variance analysis for direct expenses, ensuring that they are within established corporate and regional accounting and expense management guidelines.
  • Oversee workflow and financials, analyze and evaluate productivity levels and service standards, implement and manage quality program, and implement changes as needed to execute program specific strategies by providing process expertise and ensuring consistent delivery of superior customer service. Ensure adherence to Corporate policies and procedures.
  • Develop and retain an effective and efficient staff. Establish and communicate performance standards, competencies and objectives, and conduct performance appraisals. Monitor staff development plans and provide coaching/feedback in a consistent manner. Recommend/administer changes in policies and procedures relative to structure and/or personnel to ensure optimum utilization of resources.
  • Ensures that both unitsthe program is are in compliance with corporate policies, jurisdictional requirements and client instructions.
  • Monitors WIP and accounts receivable and aggressively pursues aged accounts receivable.
  • Manage and report all loss fund activity.
  • Assists sales/ account management personnel with presentations, proposal preparation and pricing.
  • Participates in industry functions.
  • Stays abreast of changes in regulations and/or industry changes in how services are administered or delivered.
  • Direct the implementation of operational training programs related to workflow procedures, policy processing and automated systems.
  • Participates in special projects as requested.
  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in finance operations unit. Some experience in large/complex property and casualty loss adjusting preferred.
  • Position requires occasional overnight travel.
  • Experience in financial management of client accounts.
  • Knowledge of client base, recruit new hires.
  • Strong technical skills; knowledge of IT trends for services provided by office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
