This is a 1st shift position that reports to the Machining Production Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead production team to accomplish goals and objectives by:
    • Ensuring work is performed in a safe manner and that all ZFHSE policies and practices are followed
    • Ensure that product is produced in a quality manner and that all Quality processes and procedures are followed.
    • Monitor productivity to ensure productions goals are met
  • Ensure team is adequately trained.
  • Establish a positive and cooperative employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance.
  • Foster participation and teamwork by encouraging employee involvement, soliciting input on process improvements, and using employee ideas whenever appropriate.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects and activities of the team
  • Monitor and deploy appropriate headcount needs to meet production demands
  • Communicate daily production priorities

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership capacity, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment or recent engineering degree graduate.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams.
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and ability to make quick decisions and respond to changing priorities and challenges.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Work Conditions:

  • Majority of time spent on manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels requiring hearing protection, also requires safety glasses and steel toed shoes
  • Occasional weekends required
