Heart Failure Cardiologist to join the
Advanced Heart Failure/ Pulmonary Hypertension team at
Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
The
Cardiovascular Institute at AHN includes a comprehensive panel of physicians, including multiple cardiology service lines (heart failure, electro-physiology, general cardiology, interventional cardiology, and imaging), cardiothoracic and vascular surgery as well as cardiac critical care.
The heart failure section currently employs eight cardiologists board-certified in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology and three full-time cardiothoracic transplant surgeons.
Job Duties
- In-patient, outpatient clinic (at AGH and outreach) and cardiac catheterization lab duties
- In-patient service includes on-call, rounding on primary service and consults as well as ICU duties; Cath lab duties include hemodynamic assessment, endomyocardial biopsies
- Mentoring trainees in Dept of Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease fellowship, and Heart Failure fellowship
Job Qualifications
- MD or DO degree and completed an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular / heart failure fellowship
- Qualified candidates are board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology.
- Excellence in the entire spectrum of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension
- Expertise in temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support as well as cardiac transplantation
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply
