Job Summary:


Providers with the Division of Hospital Medicine provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses at UW Health practice sites.

They are also provided the opportunity to grow the next generation of physicians through hands-on instruction of residents, fellows, and medical students.


Our Division prides itself on building a team of empathetic and collaborative physicians who are dedicated to improving the field of Hospital Medicine through clinical and scholarly endeavors.

Successful candidates will demonstrate not only their comprehensive clinical knowledge, but their ability to build trusting relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.

Responsibilities:

Clinical track duties:
The incumbent will be expected to provide clinical patient care, admitting and managing hospital inpatients.

The incumbent will also provide medical consultation within the hospital; teach residents, medical students, fellows in relation to patients on the hospitalist service; and participate in system-wide quality improvement projects at UW Health approved locations.


CHS track duties:
The incumbent will be expected to provide clinical patient care, admitting and managing hospital inpatients.

The incumbent will also provide medical consultation within the hospital; teach residents, medical students, fellows in relation to patients on the hospitalist service; and participate in system-wide quality improvement projects at UW Health approved locations.

Participation in research endeavors of the Division expected.

The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.

An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Education:
Required
Terminal Degree
MD/DO or Equivalent

Qualifications:


Candidates for Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for CHS or Clinical Track.


License/Certification:
Required
MD - Physician - State Licensure
ABIM - American Board of Internal Medicine Certification or AOBIM ? American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine

Must be eligible for Wisconsin medical license. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
