Mascot Performer

Job Summary:

The Star Tribune is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for our subscribers and the Minnesota community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our events team as a Mascot Performer.

As a Mascot Performer at the Star Tribune, you will be responsible for embodying our new mascot character and engaging with our audience in a fun and entertaining manner. You will perform at the Minnesota State Fair, at various events and venues, interacting with fans, customers, and guests of all ages. Your goal will be to create memorable experiences and enhance the overall atmosphere of our events and brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform as our mascot character at designated events, games, and appearances.

Interact with fans, guests, and children in a friendly and engaging manner.

Maintain the integrity and personality of the mascot character at all times.

Execute planned routines, skits, and performances as required.

Collaborate with event organizers and team members to ensure successful appearances.

Adhere to all costume and safety guidelines to ensure personal and audience safety.

Attend training sessions as scheduled.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a mascot performer is preferred but not required.

Ability to perform in a costume for extended periods in various weather conditions.

Comfortable working with diverse audiences, including children and families.

Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to maintain a positive attitude throughout performances.

Reliable and punctual; able to commit to assigned schedules and events.

Strong non-verbal communication skills; ability to convey emotions and personality through gestures and actions.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical movements while in costume.

Lift and carry up to forty pounds.

Pay for this position starts at $25 an hour.
