Job Summary:
To assist in the harvest season by receiving grape deliveries and support the winemaking and laboratory departments.
Essential Functions:

Document details of grape loads including weigh tag number, grower and varietal
Ensure grape loads comply with the scheduled deliveries and winemaking specifications
Document analyses and observations including temperature, brix, rot, and outstanding debris (canes, irrigation parts, any materials other than grapes)
Operation of robotic sampling arm and manual crusher/sampler as needed
Use of wine tracking software
Maintain excellent communication with drivers, grower relations, lab and winemaking staff
Stock sampling and testing supplies
Keep receiving area clean and organized at all times
Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including SQF standards
Food Safety Responsibility: Report problems with the food safety system to supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma, emphasis in science and college units preferred
Experience: not required, winery experience preferred
Ability to take direction, communicate effectively and work well with a team
Strong organization skills
Basic computer skills
Flexibility to respond to frequently changing demands and deadlines
Valid California Driver's license and clean DMV report
Working Conditions:
Moderate to heavy physical work with outdoor exposure
Standing for long periods of time, walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds
Working on various shifts including early morning
Long and irregular hours during peak periods
Comply with all personal protective equipment requirements which may include lab coat, footwear, ear plugs and safety glasses
Exposure to various chemicals, forklifts, trucks, machinery and moving parts in lab and production areas
Salary Range: $ $24.60
The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
