SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER

Job summary :

A senior network engineer is responsible for designing implementing and maintaining complex network systems for an organization. Ensure the optimal performance security and reliability of the network infrastructure as well as troubleshoot and resolving any network issues that may arise. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and other IT staff.

Job Location : Charlotte - NC / Remote

Travel is involved across the US on regular monthly basis

Requirement :

Mandatory : Cisco sd-wan experience and CCNP certification

Other skills - WAN Optimizers Switching & Routing Cisco Wireless Networking - Aruba Load balancing

Nice to have skills :Technical Skills- Software Defined Networks Wireless Google Cloud - Networking Switching & Routing HP AWS Networking Switching and Routing - Arista Cloud Load Balancing Azure Networking Services Cisco Catalyst SDWAN(Viptela)

Roles & Responsibilities


• Design and implement network architectures and solutions that meet the business and technical requirements of the organization

• Configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, SD-WAN, switches, load balancers, wireless access points, and VPN servers

• Monitor and analyze network performance, availability, and security using various tools and methods

• Identify and resolve network problems, such as connectivity, latency, bandwidth, congestion, routing, security, and quality of service issues

• Perform network upgrades, migrations, backups, and disaster recovery operations

• Document and update network policies, procedures, diagrams, and inventory

• Research and evaluate new network technologies and best practices

• Provide technical support and training to network users and other IT staff

• Collaborate with other network engineers, system administrators, vendors, and stakeholders on network projects and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in computer science engineering or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least seven years of professional experience in network engineering administration or support
  • Advanced knowledge of network protocols standards and technologies such as TCP/IP LAN WAN VLAN VPN MPLS BGP OSPF EIGRP DNS DHCP SNMP QoS NAT ACL IPSec SSL SSH etc.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices from various vendors such as Cisco IOS Cisco vManage Cisco DN Cisco ISE and Aruba wireless.
  • Experience in network security firewall and VPN technologies and policies
  • Experience in network performance analysis and optimization tools and techniques
  • Strong problem-solving analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Remote postings will be accepted until 5/1

The annual salary for this position is between $ 100,000 to $145,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
