Duties
  • As a Student Trainee, you will actively participate in on-the-job training, progressively challenging assignments, and career enhancing opportunities that relate to the needs of the agency.
  • Performs assignments in strict compliance with instructions referring problem situations and deviations to superiors for resolution and/or guidance.
  • Assists the Property Management Team in providing accurate accountability and support for DCAA equipment as it relates to receiving, distributing, hand receipt establishment, inventory, and disposition.
  • Identify requirements and requisition, issue, or distribute office and administrative supplies, forms, publications, or other printed materials.
  • Assists Fleet Manager with dispatching and tracking leased government vehicles to include usage, mileage, and fuel reporting.
  • Assist Travel Team in providing support for Agency Travel Program (Defense Travel System, Government Travel Charge Card, Training, Travel Compliance, Permanent Change of Station/Relocation).
  • Assist managers with preparing a variety of reports, documents, presentations, databases, standard operating procedures, and various communications.
  • Performs related administrative support duties.

      Qualifications

      Applicants must be current students or enrolled for Fall 2024 pursuing a degree in a qualifying educational institution. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

      Qualifying Education Institution: Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education

      Minimum Qualifications for the GS :
      Completion of one academic year of post-high school study.

      Minimum Qualifications for the GS :
      Completion of two academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.

      Minimum Qualifications for the GS :
      Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-4 or equivalent level. Specialized experience is performing a variety of support functions using standardized procedures that require application and understanding business, supply, or logistics, such as, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Business process analysis and simulation, and regulations.

      Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience for the GS-05: A bachelor's degree or four years (120 semester hours) of post high school education leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. To be creditable, education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university. (You MUST submit transcripts or proof of education to verify your claim).

      Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post high school level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

      Minimum Qualifications for the GS :
      Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education or eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision after completing a bachelor's degree.

      **Preferred course of study at an accredited college or university with academic study including courses broadly related to business, supply, or logistics, such as, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, Business process analysis and simulation, and similar courses.

      This is an Excepted Service appointment. Interns may be converted to a permanent or term (time-limited) position within 120 days of successful completion of the program. To be eligible for conversion, interns must: complete at least 640 hours of work experience acquired through the Internship Program; complete their degree or certificate requirements; meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Intern will be converted, which includes completion of 24 semester hours in accounting, 6 of which may be in business law; meet agency-specific requirements as specified in the Pathways Participant Agreement; and perform their job successfully. Time spent under previous Internship Program appointments may count towards required work experience hours.

      Background Investigation: All selectees will be subject to a personnel security investigation which must be favorably adjudicated for occupancy of a sensitive position and/or access to classified information. If you are selected for a critical/special sensitive position, you will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). For a critical sensitive position, you must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret level. For a special sensitive position, you must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level AND you will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph.

If you are selected for a special sensitive position, you will be placed in a drug testing designated position. You must pass a drug test before your assignment to such a position and you will be subject to random drug testing subsequent to your assignment.
