IT Specialist

This vacancy is being filled via the Direct-Hire Authority (DHA) for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) position located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other IT Specialist (INFOSEC), , positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

• Provide cybersecurity support in the facilitation of IT Security Assessment and Authorization process of the Decennial IT systems, applications, and networking infrastructures as mandated by the FISMA and in accordance with NIST security guidelines.
• Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
• As part of the System Development Life Cycle, participate in the development and review of IT architectures to ensure during the development phase IT security controls are implemented as required per NIST guidelines.
• Develop and conduct systems Security Contingency Plans (CPs) and participate in the development and testing of Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs), Contingency of Operation Plans (COOPs), and procedures while ensuring FISMA compliance by all data users.
