Sealed Air is seeking an experienced, highly motivated DNC PROGRAMMER for their equipment Automation Center in Ayer, MA. Reporting to the Fabrication Manager, the position provides programming and editing for the numerically controlled equipment that utilizes the most up to date tooling and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

  • Works safely and always contributes a safe work environment
  • Works with Engineering in prototype development, deciphering sketches, blueprints and other details
  • Ensures programs are optimized to maximize productivity
  • Manages all Machine Shop and Sheet Metal CNC/DNC programs
  • Participates in problem solving relating to blueprints and parts production
  • Creates tools for parts that require non-standard tooling
  • Fosters continuous improvement, quality, and team participation to ensure the most efficient processes are in use
  • Designs, documents, tests, creates, or modifies computer programs related to machine operating systems
  • Responsible for adjustments, additions, and any other programming changes that are necessary during set up
  • Works closely with CNC Machinists and operators to ensure that all programs run efficiently
  • Reviews the product manufacturing requirements daily
  • Supports continuous improvement and changes
  • Inspects products against prints using calipers and a full range of measuring equipment
  • Participates in all safety programs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years' experience in CNC machining experience
  • High School or GED required,
  • Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred
  • Ability to work as a team player under pressure with changing priorities
  • Ability to generate packages that supply all necessary information for operators to run programs
  • Must have fluid understanding of machine capabilities, capacities, and a wide range of CNC Machines, Press Brakes, and Laser operations
  • Ability to work closely with machine operators, machinists, and engineers
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or Solid Works software
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficient in troubleshooting programs at the machine
  • Ability to select the proper tooling for efficient machining processes
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and improved efficiencies, quality, and reduction in manufacturing costs
  • Ability to manage project workload while adhering to aggressive completion schedule
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English

Job Description
- Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand
- Sets up equipment operation feed, speed and temperature
- Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment for tasks such as cutting, punching, forming, drilling, tapping, turning, milling, and stamping to fabricate, form or shape manufactured parts, tools or parts assemblies from raw materials
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing
- Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations
