Princeton Day School is seeking an experienced Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach.

Reports to : Athletic Director

Games Held: Games take place mostly during the week between 4-7pm.

The successful varsity girls' basketball coach and head of program will have a high-level knowledge of the sport of basketball, the ability to properly condition athletes in a healthy and safe way, and the ability to structure practices and games in a competitive and positive manner. The applicant will be expected to demonstrate excellent administrative and communication skills for interaction with players and families as well as the ability to create and maintain a sense of program from middle school to varsity teams. In addition, experience playing and coaching basketball at a high level, college and/or high school experience, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:


• Developing the physical and mental skill set of our student-athletes enabling them to excel both in the classroom and on the basketball court.


• Develop a strong sense and appreciation for hard work as well as commitment to team, program and school.


• Build a strong team culture that values leadership, responsibility, and respect that aligns with the Princeton Day School mission.


• Recruit student-athletes and families who value community and challenge and who will make contributions towards the overall mission of the school.


• Abide by the NJSIAA and CVC by-laws, attend all league meetings and stay connected with any changes or amendments.

Preferred Qualifications / Characteristics:


• Prior Coaching or Playing experience in the sport (college and/or high school level preferred)


• Ability to coach adolescent girls


• Ability to run drills in practices


• Outstanding organizational skills


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Outstanding character


• Positive and Energetic


• Responsible and reliable
