Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States Associated Veterinary Services Full time

Associated Veterinary Services in Baton Rouge is seeking an associate veterinarian.

AVS is seeking an associate veterinarian to join our team. You will be joining a team of 9 veterinarians. Mentorship is the norm and collaboration on cases is encouraged. More experienced veterinarians are here to assist new graduates as needed, but you will be in charge of your own cases. If you have a special interest in a field such as dentistry, exotics or acupuncture, we will support and encourage your passion. We are a very busy practice that sees a wide range of medical and surgical cases but have a large team of RVTs, assistants and receptionists to assist you with workload. AVS is equipped with in house lab equipment, ultrasound, digital x-ray equipment, dental x-ray machine, endoscope and a laser to ensure high quality medicine is practiced.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and the number of hours worked. A full time position working between 36-40 hours would be 100,000 to 115,000. We also offer a sign-on bonus of 1,000 per month for the first 10 months as well as a relocation stipend to aid in moving expenditures. In addition there is an end of the year bonus each year.

Benefits: Professional fees, continuing education opportunities, health, dental, vision and life insurance, local, state and national membership fees and pto.

Company Profile: Associated Veterinary Services (AVS) was started in 1981 with the mission to provide the Baton Rouge community with high quality veterinary medicine for everyone. Forty years later we are the largest small animal practice in the Baton Rouge area and we still aim to provide affordable top-notch medical care for animals, as well as exceptional customer service and education for pet owners.

We also value diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and community. Our team is like family. Despite being a busy small animal practice with a large staff, we watch out for each other (by checking in when each other needs support or is sick), celebrate one another (when we have life events or throw holiday parties), volunteer together (for causes we all love), and support each other's personal and professional growth.

Work/home balance is important to us and all of our team. Veterinarians determine the number of hours they want to work ranging from 20-40 hours a week. Full time is considered to be 32 hours per week to receive full insurance benefits. Emergencies and after hour cases are referred to a 24 hour clinic.
