The College of Southern Nevada is always looking to strengthen our institution by adding the best available talent to our staff. We're seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst. This position will report directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and will conduct compensation analysis, research job requirements, and evaluate job positions to ensure the college is competitive in the areas of salaries and employee benefits. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities of this Role:
  • Work with Talent Acquisition to maintain job descriptions for positions in the organization, and ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents. May conduct interviews and surveys of employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
  • Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range.
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
  • Prepare and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
  • Gather data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
  • Research employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, may propose recommended changes or updates to the company's existing benefits.
  • Plan and communicate preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees.
  • In collaboration with the CHRO advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field from a from an accredited college or university OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of compensation analyst experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in human resources, business, or related field from an accredited college or university; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Certification in compensation.
  • 4 years related professional experience.
  • History of collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with Workday HRIS system.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, process data and turn information into various reports.

  • Ability to perform and conduct quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with a variety of software, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledgeable about human resource laws, policies, and practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Create effective compensation surveys.
  • Predict job market trends.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to ensure project goals and objectives are well understood while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Show a high degree of creativity and initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data requests.
  • Well versed in state and federal labor laws and regulations to protect the organization against compliance issues.
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and current software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Salary Information:

Administrative Faculty C - The starting salary is $67,256
