This role will require 20% office and 80% field and other locations.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Manager(s) with the planning of all aspects of multiple construction projects.
  • Field Lead to coordinate finalization of the scope, estimated cost and schedule.
  • Provides skilled supervision of multiple inspection teams and coordination of company personnel and contractors efforts.
  • Ensures project is completed within the Company's financial and schedule guidelines by effective planning, monitoring of schedules and managing contractors.
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager(s) to finalize the project scope. Performs the necessary field reconnaissance. Coordinates the construction schedule and the preliminary design of proposed facilities.
  • Assists with environmental activities.
  • Attends daily preparation/safety meetings with contractors.
  • Completes end-of-day Progress Reports.
  • Assists Project Team with Work Order and Completion Report activities. Acts as the as-built responsible person to ensure drawings are completed timely and correctly.
  • Verifies and approves invoices in accordance with company policy and Manual of Approvals.
  • Coordinates schedule for facility outages with Gas Control and communicates regularly on all changes to the schedule.
  • Company's representative for all contacts with community, government agencies, property owners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Oversees on-site inspections and tours by regulatory agencies and customers.
  • Provides oversight and direction to third party inspectors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for Position

  • Associate's degree in engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, Construction Engineering or equivalent preferred. Consideration in lieu of a degree for five (5) or more years of comparable multiple project supervision experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of reading and interpreting construction blueprints and plans.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with others and be a self-starter.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft family products (Excel, Word, Access, etc)
  • Ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations and basic accounting procedures.
  • Ability to deliver oral and written presentations on project status, to analyze project schedules and costs, and to read and interpret technical reports and drawings.
  • Effectively manages outside resources.
  • Must be able to process information and make decisions with limited supervision.
  • Must be able effectively communicate.
  • Able to recognize and evaluate risks, hazards, losses and prevent conflicts between activities.
  • Demonstrates understanding and support of company initiatives and direction.
  • Seeks out and identifies continuous improvement opportunities, champions implementation.
  • Office 20%, field and other locations 80%; outdoors in all weather conditions. Hazards are those typical to construction sites and during travel.
  • Motor vehicle record check required.
  • Overnight travel required, long durations.
  • Overtime required.
  • Work in a rough construction environment, including steep grades and uneven terrain.
